Iwan Jenny (*1979) studied percussion at the Musikhochschule Luzern with Erwin Bucher. He graduated, majoring in music pedagogy and orchestral playing, with a distinction. Additional academic courses that he studied were in Drum Set with Norbert Pfammatter, Baroque Timpani and Marimba. Iwan Jenny furthered his studies with Prof. Franz Lang at the Staatliche Musikhochschule Trossingen in Germany, achieving, in 2003, an exclusive study stay at the Drummers Collective in New York City.

Iwan Jenny was the Solo Percussionist of the Orchestra Musikkollegium Winterthur and is currently the Timpani player in the 21st Century Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he works as a freelance percussionist with prominent Symphony Orchestras and Baroque Orchestras in Switzerland. As a drummer, he plays with a wide range of formations and varying styles, among others with the Swiss Brass Consort. He is also the co-founder and member of the the CRUSMA Percussion Duo.

At present he teaches Drums at the Musikschule Luzern.

Iwan Jenny is a multiple award recipient, including the Prix Rotary, Friedl Wald-Stiftung Basel, Axelle und Max Koch-Kulturstiftung Luzern, as well as winner in the Drumset Category at the Swiss Percussion Contest 2002.


Since summer 2012 he plays as a Solo Timpanist in the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra LSO.
